Manz Cheleiros Dona Fatima Jampal

Varietal: 100% Jampal

Dona Fátima, produced entirely from the Jampal grape has an intense freshness on the palate with a full, sustained bouquet, an elegant lingering taste, and a good balance of acidity with added complexities of young oak.

 

With soils of clay-limestone in a Mediterranean climate that is influenced by the Atlantic, winemaker Ricardo Noronha, has the grapes destemmed with pre-fermentation maceration. The fermentation process occurred in small stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Aged in French oak for 6 months in “batonage” system.

 

This bright yellow color, with rich bouquet is dominated by fruity aromas. Exotic and citrus fruits are predominant along with captivating complexity aromas, revealing soft butter, vanilla and toast notes. On the palate, it is velvety, aromatic with firm acidity. Clean and wonderfully fresh with a pleasant and lingering finish.

 

Dates back to the Neolithic times the reputation of Cheleiros, passing by the Romans and Moors, but it is in the 50s that the stories and memories about the wine characterize the village. The Manzwine’s project promises to transport you to a time when this village was famous for the quality of its vineyards, fruit and good land. The village nestles on a plateaux among rolling vineyards with their rich soil and unique microclimate, where the Cheleiros creek modifies the influence of the Oceanic climate.
